Treasure It
Crafting Projects

To make it easy to get started, here are over thirty craft projects that you can offer immediately, based on all materials supplied by Treasure it or with easy add ons (embroidery floss, pin backs, etc.).

Optical Art Stickers
Beadlet Projects
Level: Intermediate (based on need to line things up carefully)
Time: 15 - 30 min plus (depending on complexity of assembling artwork)

Ingredients:
  • Original Artwork
  • 2x sheets of Wacky Tacky TapeTM (to cover front and back of artwork)
  • 1.5 oz Diamond BeadletsTM
Directions:
  • Create a 5 x 7 drawing or a collage; Use a photo or magazine clip art.
  • Adhere a Wacky Tacky Tape sheet to the front and back of the artwork. To adhere front sheet, pull back white release paper slightly from one end, line up tape with artwork, and slowly slide remaining white release paper off while pressing exposed tape down onto artwork. For back, repeat but peel red liner off (instead of white) and press artwork down onto exposed tape.
  • If you like, trim the artwork into a shape or leave it rectangular.
  • Pull off the red liner from the top of the artwork and embellish it with gems, booty or other embellishments.
  • Pour Diamond Beadlets over it to cover remaining exposed areas and to create a neat 3D optical effect.
  • Use your finished craft as a sticker to adorn a notebook binder, backpack, etc.
Inexpensive Add-ons:
  • Instead of using a full sheet on the back, use tape scraps to attach a magnetic sheet (cut to size) to the back to create refrigerator magnets.
  • Attach pinbacks with scraps or trim tape to turn it into jewelry.
  • Start with stamp art, then color in the stamp design and proceed with tape, beads & embellishments. You can use seed and bugle beads as embellishments for this too.

Spiral Pens
Spiral Pens
Level: Easiest
Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 1x party pen
  • 4.5” of 1” wide tape
  • .20 oz of beadlets (5 pens per oz)
  • 11” of 1/8th wide trim tape
Directions:
  • Apply wacky tacky tape to the pen lengthwise, from the end of the gripper to the end of the pen, leaving a ¼ inch of tape off the end of the pen (to cover). The width of the tape (not the length) is what wraps around the pen.
  • Peel back red liner of tape and press tape down tape on end of pen until completely covered and flush with pen.
  • Using 1/8th inch tape and starting at the end of the gripper again, slowly wrap the tape around the pen creating a spiral effect. When tape has been decorated with trim tape all the way to the end of the pen, you can dip the pen into beadlets. When pen is covered, peel back red liner of trim tape and dip in another color (high contrast colors will work best).
Note: If you cover the pen completely in beadlets before you spiral, your spiral will be raised for added dimension!
Inexpensive Add-ons:
  • Gem Pen: Cover the pen in tape and peeling back red liner layer. Add gems randomly or in a pattern. When satisfied with your design, dip into the beadlets to cover.
  • “Rap” Pen: Wrap embroidery floss, lanyard, narrow fabric trim or strung sequins around the pen.
  • “Treasure Pen”: Wrap pen in tape and dip in beadlets. Then take a short piece of wire (approx 5") and string seed & bugle beads onto it. At the end of the wire, add a novelty button twist the wire around itself a few times to personalize it.
  • To add time to the project, try our amazing “coil” pen. Instead of a short wire of seed & bugle beads with a charm, cut a piece of wire long enough to spiral around the pen from the gripper to the end. String with seed beads & bugle beads and coil around the pen until it is completely covered. Rap wire around other end to secure on both sides.
